Pet Supplies Plus in Okemos is looking for a passionate pet lover to join our team as we strive to be our neighborhood's favorite, locally-owned pet store!

Compensation:

*$15.00 / hour
*Bonus Pay monthly based on store performance goals achieved

Responsibilities/Qualifications:

As a Shift Leader at Pet Supplies Plus, you're passionate about people and their pets. Providing exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during your work day, you will:

• assist a neighbor in choosing the perfect toy for a lab who loves to fetch
• set an example for other team members by delivering fantastic neighborly service
• assist the store's team leaders by reinforcing the daily operational procedures and performance expectations

Shift Leader key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with store team leaders to learn and reinforce the PSP standards and daily management routines that make your store a neighborhood favorite
• Providing leadership coverage and management functions up to four times per week when team leaders are offsite
• Learning and performing back office procedures to comply with standards and expectations, such as making labels and updating price changes
• Adhering to operational policies and procedures (safety, cleanliness, and security) that ensure exceptional service is being provided to neighbors
• communicating opportunities to improve community and neighbor engagement or store performance to team leaders
• Involvement in store recruiting, training, and team member development

Shift Leader candidates will have:

• 1 years of retail experience
• 1 year of supervising/leadership experience
• Strong sales and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as effective communication skills
• Ability to operate all equipment, including a pallet jack, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds (that cat litter can be heavy!)
• Ability to work flexible schedules, have reliable transportation, must pass a drug and background screening, and be 18 years of age or older.
