Clinical skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions in small animals, including triage of emergency cases. Surgical Skills: Ability to perform emergency surgical procedures, such as wound repair, laceration treatment, and fracture stabilization. Diagnostic Skills: Competence in interpreting diagnostic tests such as radiographs, ultrasounds and laboratory results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrates ability to provide compassionate care to animals and their owners, particularly in high-stress situations. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effectively communicating with clients and collaborating with other members of the veterinary team. Availability and Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to cover urgent care shifts. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive care to patients. Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and restraining animals, standing for long periods, and performing surgeries and other procedures. Professionalism and Integrity: Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all aspects of veterinary practice.
