Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist maintains the Medical and Allied Health Staff current credentials, to include licenses and certifications. Ensures medical staff appointments and reappointments are processed accurately and timely and are following the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission, payer standards, federal, state and local regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required
  • Must complete in-house orientation program
  • High School diploma.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience And Skills
  • Speaks, reads and writes English
  • 2 Years of hospital credentialing preferred.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards as they relate to Credentialing and Privileging
  • Possess team skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work independently
  • Typing, telephone, and written communication skills.
  • Computer skill: Word, Excel, Outlook, Credentialing Software.
License/Certifications
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
  • 70% sitting (40% at the computer), 30% standing/walking.
  • Visit clinical, ancillary and support service departments.
  • Requires close vision and depth perception; physical and finger dexterity; speech and hearing; ability to lift 20-30 lbs as needed. Environment clean; well lit; moderate noise level.
