Precious Paws Animal Hospital is a family owned small animal practice in West Ocean City, Maryland. We are located just a few miles away from the beaches of Ocean City and Assateague Island. Precious Paws is fast-paced and innovative, complete with a contemporary hospital design, modern technology and equipment. Our goal is to fulfill the needs of our clients by providing quality health services through a responsive, professional staff with emphasis on individual attention and commitment to community service. We believe in quality medicine with a caring heart.
Duties
- Perform medical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment for a variety of animals
- Perform surgeries, including spaying and neutering, tumor removals, and dental procedures.
- Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases
- Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis
- Provide emergency care and stabilize critically ill or injured animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with legal requirements
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- Proficiency in veterinary critical care, and aseptic technique
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
- Ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical equipment
