POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Logistics Coordinator will execute weekly operations for several domestic shipping lanes for the Express Seed Company account.

JOB DUTIES:

• Plan and route LTL, TL, and small parcel shipments to ensure capacity, cost, and service parameters are effectively achieved
• Manage the truck routing process to ensure efficient distribution of products to customers
• Ensure customer requirements regarding equipment, pick-up time, and delivery dates are met
• Manage the Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) process and communicate with customers
• Coordinate changes to planned shipments, including order changes, inquiries, rush orders, or discrepancies in confirmed delivery date or time
• Identify and communicate current or future transportation issues, as well as recovery plans
• Develop transportation plans to support holidays, short-term open/close schedules, and seasonal fluctuations
• Develop reports showing transportation costs on precise projects and moves
• Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans, and similar data
• Review and analyze program effectiveness and execute on-time improvements and corrective actions
• Proactively anticipates, analyzes, and troubleshoots problems with deliveries and devises and implements cost-effective and DOT compliant solutions
• Manage the load tender process
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & education requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business, or related field or relevant experience required
• 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related field
• Experience in agriculture, live plants, food distribution, or temperature control industry is a plus
• An understanding of DOT regulations preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and Word
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and show a sense of urgency
• Up to 10% travel
