The Financial Analyst supports the finance, sales, operations, and supply chain teams in the analysis of sales and production data. Key responsibilities will include profitability analysis for the further processed division, providing analytical support to cross-functional groups, and providing insightful business data to promote profitable sales and efficient operating activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position will own the process of the monthly financial forecast as well as all financial reporting requirements for the S&OP process.
• Calculating SKU, Customer, and Business Segment level profitability. Identify price, volume, and mix impacts.
• Prepare and review weekly and monthly financial reports to track financial status.
• Analyze financial results and complete variance analysis to forecast and plan.
• Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate and understand how all costs factor into the profitability structure.
• Provide support and assist in the development of the annual operating plan.
• Understand, analyze, and make recommendations on financial performance as compared to industry benchmarks.
• Take responsibility for understanding product and process cost structures for different segments.
• Master costing systems and complete manufacturing variance analysis.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute ad hoc analysis and financial models as needed.
• Verification of internal and external data to support 100% accuracy of data and analysis.
• Take initiative to gather and share relevant data with all parties to achieve a thorough understanding of all factors related to business analysis.
• Understand the sensitivity and confidentiality of information and practice a high level of professionalism and political awareness during discussions and meetings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum 5 years experience in an analysis or accounting role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office applications, strong Excel skills,, etc.
• Experience in manufacturing cost methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Accounting or finance experience in the food processing industry.
