Job DescriptionWe are partnered with a general contractor specializing in structural steel construction who is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join their team. QC Manager has specific responsibilities tailored to ensure the quality and safety of fabricated steel structures.
Quality Control Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure adherence to AWS and AISC and other relevant standards during the fabrication process
- Conducting regular audits of the fabrication process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established quality control procedures
- Implementing and monitoring welding procedures to ensure proper weld quality, including inspections, testing, and documentation
- Overseeing visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant) to detect defects or imperfections in welded joints and steel components
- Enforcing adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the fabrication process to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel
- Collaboration with QC inspectors, CWIs, shop and field employees to provide additional training, manage AISC and PCI standards, QA/QC programs, and facilitate the annual 3rd party audits
- 10 years in Structural Steel Fabrication and Welding
- Ability to read and understand fabrication and construction drawings
- Welding experience and certifications (D1.1 and/or D1.5)
- Understanding of AISC and AWS standards
- Certified Welding Inspector preferred
- Base Salary of $75,000-$125,000 depending on experience
