CUSTODIAL WORKER PART-TIME EXTRA HIRE:
The CUSTODIAL WORKER PART-TIME EXTRA HIRE positions exist in the Chenango County Public Facilities Department. The work involves responsibility for performing routine repetitive building cleaning and minor maintenance work in accordance with well defined policies and procedures. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher level public facilities employee with some leeway allowed for planning and carrying out the details of the work. Supervision over the work of others is not a responsibility of an employee in this class. Does related work as required.

Responsibilities:
- Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, offices, common areas, and other designated areas
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or repairing minor damages
- Assist with setting up rooms for meetings or events as needed

Skills:
- Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment
- Floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming)
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
- Custodial tasks (restroom cleaning, trash removal)

Special Requirement:
- At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, a candidate/incumbent must posses a valid New York State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the County's insurance carrier.

Pay Rate:
The position has a 19 hour or less work week and 2024 starting pay rate is $16.99 per hour.
