The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts is Hiring a Mental Health Counselor Near Norwalk, CT

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with college-age students to provide counseling and support to help them navigate the challenges of academic, personal, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with college-age students.
  • Assess and diagnose mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
  • Offer guidance on stress management, relationship issues, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure holistic care for students.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions.
  • Stay up-to-date with current mental health trends and treatments.

Qualifications:

  • State licensure as a Mental Health Counselor.
  • Experience working with college-age students.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to counseling.
  • Familiarity with various counseling techniques and therapeutic modalities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
