These materials are crushed to form resources that are used by various companies, homeowners, cities as well as the State of Michigan as a base to build a better infrastructure. 

JOB PURPOSE

This role is responsible for communicating with customers, weighing incoming and outgoing trucks, and processing payments. This position will be required to work at both our Northville, MI and Detroit, MI yards.

JOB DUTIES

• Will work in a scale house environment and have continuous face-to-face contact with the public/customers.
• Greets customers, directs customers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately.
• Uses computer hardware and software to obtain customer vehicle weights, record those weights and produce scale tickets for customers.
• Provides timely and accurate tickets to customers ensuring the smooth flow of traffic across the scale.

• Performs housekeeping duties to ensure that scale house is clean and orderly.

• Maintains product knowledge necessary to answer customer questions and to direct them to correct loading and unloading areas.
• Approaches all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Replace or assist other workers as needed or directed.
• Follow credit card procedures accurately
• Carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems.
• Perform basic computer functions and operate computer software
• Perform basic mathematical calculations accurately & efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read English sufficiently to be able to read information contained in manuals, regulations, and reports, including Safety issues and related matters.
• Ability to speak English and communicate with others via a two-way radio.
• Basic English language skills for completion of various paperwork, such as pre-shift inspection forms.
• Use basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements.
• High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to operate scale control house.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

SCHEDULE -

Hours of operation for scale houses are Mon-Fri 6am to 6pm and Sat 6am to 2pm

• Full-time position
• Day shift 
• Weekend availability required - Saturdays
• Work at multiple locations - Northville & Detroit
• Overtime available
• Exact schedule to determined
