ASSEMBLE is seeking a customer service superstar for a part-time position as an associate in our downtown Northampton shop. Our store offers a unique retail experience with a mix of curated vintage items and artist-made goods, furniture and more. This position is not limited to the summer season, we’re looking for the next member of Team ASSEMBLE!

Often a fast-paced retail environment, there’s always something engaging to do even in the downtime of the shop. The right candidate is an multi-tasker, able to keep up with the work of the day while maintaining warmth and a good sense of humor in your customer and co-worker interactions.

If you are a self-starter with an interest in vintage goods, art, furniture or design, we might just be the perfect fit. Artists, makers & creative folks looking for regular shifts to supplement their personal pursuits are strongly encouraged to apply.

A typical day at ASSEMBLE will see you doing the following:

· Welcoming and engaging customers as they enter the store

· Listening and responding to customer inquiries and making recommendations about the best product for them

· Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day and making sure that the shop is tidy before closing

· Working as part of a team to process merchandise and clean vintage items

· Occasional heavy lifting of less than 50 lbs.

Note about accessibility: The shop has three stairs at the entrance with railings but does not have a ramp.

If you have experience in the following, they are a plus but not required:

· Creating social media content

· Simple product photography

· Maintaining a website-we use Shopify to list items for sale

· Using a POS system/handling cash transactions

· Basic graphic design

Starting pay range is $16-$19 and is dependent on availability & experience. We’re looking for someone for approximately 3-5 days per week, with open availability and the ability to work weekends as needed. A typical day is an 8 hour shift.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
