The Capital Project Manager is a professional position, working independently under the City Engineer in the Engineering Division of the Development Services Department.The position is responsible for the management and administration of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and related projects involving paving, signal, drainage and utility projects.This position is not responsible for the technical engineering aspects of the projects, but rather the overall management of the program’s progress, with heavy emphasis on schedules, contracting, procurement, and financial tracking.This position does not supervise other employees but may be assigned as a team leader on various projects.

This position offers a great opportunity to be directly involved in the full life cycle of municipal capital projects, from ideation to ribbon-cutting.As a mid-sized city, NRH Public Works staff handles the full range of infrastructure design:streets, traffic, water, wastewater and drainage.The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, be a self-starter, and have a basic understanding or the willingness to quickly learn the basic elements of municipal capital projects.
