Company Description
Lakes Region EMS is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service, with a rural service area just northeast of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. With bases in Rush City, North Branch, and Lindstrom in Minnesota, and St. Croix Falls and Milltown in Wisconsin, we cover a total area of approximately 650 square miles between the two states. In 2023, Lakes Region EMS responded to over 9,600 calls for service and treated more than 7,000 patients.
We take great pride in our ability to deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS) care to our community. Our ambulances are staffed with highly trained Paramedics and EMTs equipped to provide emergency treatment for traumatic injuries and sudden illnesses. With our advanced skills and equipment, we bring the capabilities of an Emergency Room directly to the patient. We also provide Critical Care services, offering an expanded scope of practice similar to that of a hospital ICU. This ensures our patients receive timely and advanced care, improving their chances of recovery and survival.
Role Description
We are looking for and currently hiring casual (as needed) EMTs. As an EMT, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in various settings, assisting Paramedics in advanced life support procedures, and operating and maintaining emergency medical equipment. You will work closely with our community partners, including but not limited to police, fire, and hospital staff to provide excellent healthcare services to our community.
Qualifications
- Current Paramedic certifications - national, MN, and WI are all required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of medicine and emergency medical procedures
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience in a similar role or healthcare setting is a plus
