Bay Optical Laboratory is Hiring an Optical Lab Technician Near North Bend, OR

We're looking for an individual for a full-time, long-term Optical Lab Technician. Optical experience preferred but not required. Will be willing to train the right person. The schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:30-5:30. At times you may leave before or after 5:30pm. Must be flexible.

  • Needs strong technical skills to surface and edge lenses into frames.
  • Repairs and maintenance on machines when needed.
  • Requires working with the public and excellent customer service skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Good work ethics, prioritize tasks, adapt to changing work environment, and handle unexpected events.
  • Have a strong understanding of basic math.
  • Fully understand and use the lensometer to insure accurate work.
  • Have knowledge of lens styles and lens options.
  • Will repair and adjust glasses. Some repairs will consist of soldering and heat sinks.
  • Willing to learn optics to eventually obtain an ABO certification.
  • Troubleshooting
  • Willing to cross-train for a backup opticians when needed.
  • Any other duties assigned
  • Wages DOE. Benefits after the 90-day probation period includes paid medical, dental, vision, vacation, and sick leave. 401K.
