THE OPPORTUNITY

DiStefano Brothers is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper to join our Accounting team. We offer a collaborative work environment with a focus on personal & professional growth. This position would be based out of our office in North Kingstown, RI. 

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As an AR Bookkeeper, you play a vital role in supporting the smooth operations of our Accounting department. You are a professional who is detail oriented with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You use your talents to help to ensure that financial reporting is timely and accurate and streamline the accounts receivable process across the organization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation before payments are received
• Link customers and initial deposits from project management software to QuickBooks
• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is current, credits and collections are correctly applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
• Deposit checks into the bank within 48 hours of receipt
• Update and distribute cash receipt logs and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
• Create a deposit backup document and attach it to the banking transaction section of QuickBooks
• Bring in the deposits to the appropriate division income
• Run the processing payment report daily and update comments for incoming payments
• Prepare Accounts Receivable reports and Balance Sheets for weekly finance meetings
• Weekly updates to the Accounts Receivable reports and add “complete” comment tagging to all relevant parties
• Review the task manager in the project management software once a week. Reach out to team members for updates and push task dates as needed. Update percentages complete
• Communicate with all finance team members when questions or issues arise
• Communicate with clients on past due balances

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced Level QuickBooks proficiency
• Understanding of SFAS principles
• GAAP Accounting Practices
• Managing Receivables Processes
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance preferred
