Senior Living is Hiring a Resident Care Coordinator Near Norcross, GA

Job Title: Resident Care Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Summary:

The Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for managing and addressing resident care needs within the community. The Resident Care Coordinator will hire, train, supervise, and schedule the Resident Assistants, CNAs, and CMAs. They will monitor resident care needs, alert the Director of Nursing when a resident has a change in condition, and address both resident and family concerns.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plans, organizes, develops and assists in directing the overall operation of the community in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, and company regulations and guidelines.
  • Partners with Director of Nursing by alerting to any change of condition of the resident including tracking incident reporting.
  • Participates in the Move In process by completing initial assessments as requested by the Director of Nursing.
  • Communicates regularly with families through care plan meetings, emails, and phones calls.
  • Acts as a resource and meets the families social and emotional needs while encouraging family involvement.
  • Assists Director of Nursing in monitoring employee hours worked and staffing patterns to assure the maximization of variable staffing.
  • Understands and manages the department budget to include labor and other expenses and the impact on overall community performance.
  • Assists in hiring, training, supervision, coaching, and discipline with all clinical associates.
  • Completes the schedule for clinical associates and is on call as needed.

Education and Experience:

Maintain a current active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License or has a valid Certified Medication Aide License. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exhibit good time management and organization skills.
  • Possess the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Express compassion for residents, staff and guests on a consistent basis.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.
