OverviewFamily Practice Associates was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Foxx in 1983 and has grown to one of the largest family practice groups in Central Kentucky. Today FPA is a group of primary care providers who are dedicated to giving family-centered care from birth to later years. FPA has over 25 primary providers including: physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, and a marriage and family therapist. With a professionally trained staff of CMA’s, receptionists, lab techs and others, FPA provides award winning care that has been recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through the National Commission on Quality Assurance. FPA works diligently to offer Central Kentucky families enhanced access to medical care at its Hamburg & Brannon Crossing locations as well as online at www.fpalex.com .
ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Services Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Department to ensure optimal efficiency and workflow. Along with the department coordinators and supervisors, the director is responsible for a variety of items. These items include but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee the Supervisor duties of managing daily schedules & staffing needs as well as task assignments in conjunction with the department coordinators
  • Supervise staff to ensure FPA policies are being followed, including HR, clinical dept, HIPAA & OSHA.
  • Oversee Patient Communication – results/reports/procedures follow up with patients
  • Working knowledge of all practice systems related to department (Allscripts PM, EMR, FMH, Chart scout, Phreesia, OhMD, , etc.)
  • Monitor Provider/Ancillary Schedules for appropriate and optimum scheduling
  • Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the office
  • Address any patient, provider or staff concerns/complaints as needed and document appropriately
  • Participate in purchasing procurement and inventory control systems
  • Participate in development and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols to meet established goals & objectives, billing guidelines and to improve quality of patient care by meeting PCMH and value based care guidelines and recommendations
  • Develops patient educational tools as needed to improve service
  • Conduct and/or participate in a variety of practice meetings (Staff, Department, Management, Committees assigned)
  • Develops and maintains a training program for staff and perform chart reviews
  • Facilitate operational planning, budget preparation, performance measurement and project implementation within clinical department based upon strategic plan incorporating the mission, vision and values of the practice
  • Participate in facility planning and maintenance programs to meet practice objectives
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and is a role model for staff. Interacts professionally with staff, providers, managers and patients.
  • Collaborates with staff, providers and management regarding operational workflow changes to ensure the most efficient delivery of care
  • Collaborates with management on policy development or changes related to PCMH or value-based care standards
  • Approve Employee attendance Timecards & PTO
  • Collaborate on development of a competitive pay and benefit program to assist staff recruitment and retention Job Description development, review and revision to accurately classify job duties
  • Participate in Hiring, Orientation and Training of new Clinical staff
  • Other duties as assigned
Specific Requirements
  • A graduate of a Certified Medical Assisting Program, LPN or RN (certifications or licenses must be current)
  • Prior experience of 2-5 years in a clinical setting, experience with an electronic health record preferred (Knowledge of primary care medicine including examination, treatment procedures, etc.)
  • Supervisor/Management experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to listen well and work closely with patients, staff and providers
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members
  • Fine motor skills required for operating computers and patient communication systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other computer programs
  • Motor skills required to move quickly from room to room, to assist patients in ambulation, and to push a wheelchair.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand and stretch repeatedly as well as lift loads of less than 10 pounds
  • Ability to work well under stress and to manage high patient volume.
Must be willing to travel between locations (Hamburg and Brannon Crossing)
