Machine Learning Engineer

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to SAP S/4's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

How You Will Contribute

• Design and develop solutions using machine learning algorithms such as maximal likelihood estimation, regression, classification and clustering
• Build, train, and deploy improved models that power features in our next generation SAP Cloud Applications
• Imagine new feature ideas and design real-time data pipelines to incorporate them into our models
• Participate in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing and production release
• Work with other engineers, managers, product management, QA, and Ops teams to develop innovative solutions
• Investigate technology options in-line with SAP’s overall technology direction

A Successful Candidate Would

• BS degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Masters or PhD in CS, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or a similar field a plus
• 3 years of hands-on experience designing and training machine learning models to solve critical business problems
• Experience in writing and debugging ETL jobs using a distributed data framework (such as Spark, Kafka, or Flink)
• Experience with bash scripting and Python for automation/testing
• Experience with Jenkins and Docker for enabling CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud vendors (AWS, GCP or Azure) and their offered services
• Familiarity with writing code that uses advanced cache stores such as Redis or Memcached is a plus

Taking a start-up approach, SAP S/4HANA Consumer Industries Cloud will be an incubator for new cloud applications, bringing together product strategy and management will all the necessary cloud business functions such as architecture, engineering and operations. Development in this unit will focus on cloud-native applications and has a strategic growth plan from now to 2025.
