Newburyport High School seeks to hire a dynamic, passionate and collaborative Art Teacher to add to our teaching team. Experience with the instruction on a wide variety of materialsKnowledge of techniques and processes associated with drawing, painting, and three-dimensional studio materials, and a working knowledge of the elements and principles of art and design.Flexibility and a willingness to learn and try new thingsDemonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate.Teach knowledge and skills in art including creating 2D and 3D projects and techniques with a wide range of art mediumsProvide opportunities for students to work and share collaboratively and to develop a strong sense of respect for self and others, while helping students appreciate art and develop their own artistic expressions.Participate in the arts curriculum review and design, and work cooperatively with a team to develop a strong school program incorporating both state and district frameworks.Expereince with Photography and visual mediaCollaborate and integrate with faculty across disciplines to build meaningful curricular connections.Assess student performance/work and communicate feedback to students and families regularly. Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students work for the school and the community.Align Content and instruction to the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and to district scope and sequencesRemain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities within and out-of-district, such as instructional technology.All other duties assigned by Newburyport High School Administrative Team
