Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire experienced full-time Dialysis Nurses to provide quality care to patients in need of dialysis treatment.

ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL

Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day average stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dialysis Nurse's responsibilities include ensuring that hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly, working with the dialysis technicians, and evaluating patients' lab results and answering patients' questions regarding dialysis treatments. The dialysis nurse should also ensure that the dialysis machines and equipment are in good working order. The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing.
  • At least one (1) year of hemodialysis experience preferred.
  • NJ State license to practice nursing.
  • Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC).
  • Proven experience working as a dialysis nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • The ability to operate dialysis machines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
