Job Description

The Enterprise Architect (EA) sits within the Office of the CIO. The EA is a strategic partner and advisor to the business and technology teams providing proactive and holistic help in achieving their targeted outcomes including optimizing costs, mitigating risks and improving sustainability. This includes influencing the introduction of new and/or emerging technologies and architectures as well as expansion of existing platforms in support of business challenges, and target outcomes.

The enterprise architect's responsibilities include improving the current technology system architecture, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs. The enterprise architect is also responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities.

To be successful as an enterprise architect, one needs to be proven leader with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, should have demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically, should have excellent technical, and analytical. You should also have strong communication, and interpersonal skills.

Enterprise Architect Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand a wide range of disciplines in enough detail to communicate effectively with experts in those areas to enable delivery of E2E solutions design, development and configuration.
  • Govern and manage the organization technology standards and patterns to help reduce complexity, risk, and improve quality and speed of delivery.
  • Analyzing industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise.
  • Evaluating current IT environment, business development strategies, and IT processes to identify critical deficiencies and suggesting improvements.
  • Creating business architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals.
  • Suggesting ideas to reduce costs in IT and business leadership.
  • Collaborates with delivery teams to promote and ensure consistent application of architecture patterns, standards, best practices, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact quality, scalability, sustainability, speed to value and time to market.
  • Proven experience in a technical architecture role, within the financial services industry
  • Ensuring the efficiency, security, and support of the organization's goals.
  • Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall business strategy.
  • Consulting with project/program teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, with at least 7 years in a senior architecture role
  • Strong understanding of finance industry regulations, compliance standards, and security frameworks
  • Strong understanding of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, APIs, Open Data, Microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge of Solution architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Storage, virtualization
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure, automation tools, operating systems, networking protocols, and IT operations
  • Proficient in architecture frameworks and design principles
  • Experience with enterprise architecture tools, related graphical models, and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
  • Knowledge of AI and emerging technologies
  • Excellent at conflict resolution and negotiation; ability to influence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong management experience required.
  • Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development.

Compensation:

The expected annual salary for this position is between $210,000 - $250,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
