The Product Engineer is responsible for building and leading a team to establish and maintain a sourcing operation to execute product development, to procure and deliver the high value construction finish products that we install in the homes of our customers. The Product Engineer is ultimately responsible for the product quality, cost, safety and timely delivery.
The Product Engineer will play a key role as part of the supply chain team in researching and identifying new construction materials and technology. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine product specifications and performance requirements. The Product Engineer will design and prototype construction materials and products, considering factors such as durability, cost effectiveness, scalability and ease of installation. This individual will possess knowledge of industry trends, market demands and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Proven experience in the development and optimization of construction materials and products
- Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and quality control methods
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skill
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, such as ASTM, ACI, and ANSI
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
