The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

ResponsibilitiesJob Purpose:The person will work on projects selected to drive improvements in our purchasing, inventory management and material flow at our New Bedford, MA manufacturing site. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply Lean Six Sigma process improvement tools. Morgan’s Operational Excellence leader will be responsible to teach and provide guidance on the application of Lean Six Sigma tools. This person will lead projects working with cross functional teams. Working closely with all team members, this individual is responsible for executing the assigned projects that is expected to drive efficiency improvements in our operations.
This position will report to the site Supply Chain Manager.
The role is an exciting opportunity to join a global, dynamic, Hi-Tech team, supporting the medical and aerospace industries. We are the industry leader in development and manufacturer of ceramic to metal seals for both Aerospace and Medical markets. We help improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components, and we ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to analysis data and utilization of Excel
  • Ability to learn and apply Lean Six Sigma tools for problem solving.
  • Ability to collaborate on project teams.
  • Ability to use Microsoft’s Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) software.
  • Good communication skills
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • This position requires use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
  • Individual must be a:
    • Citizen of the United States, or
    • Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
    • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15

  • Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of business personnel.
  • Must be able to work well with internal contacts of the Company.
