BASIC FUNCTION:

Omya a leading global industrial manufacturing company is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid work ethic and willingness to provide creative ideas and solutions to meet continuous improvement objectives. The company has an immediate opening for a full-time industrial plant Operator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Controls and optimally operates the PCC manufacturing process and equipment. Conducts laboratory tests on production samples and controls operation parameters to meet defined product specifications.
• Completion of all quality test requirements to verify final product quality.
• To ensure efficient, uninterrupted production and identify and facilitate process improvements, monitor equipment and report production information in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Works inside and occasionally outside exposed to heat, cold, dirt, and noise.
• Operates facility alone on nights and weekends.
• Keep records for production, raw material deliveries, quality samples and equipment and process performance.
• Responsible for housekeeping in the plant and maintaining a clean, safe and clutter free work environment.
• Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of various laboratory instruments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5 years industrial/manufacturing experience in a chemical or related field. High school diploma or GED preferred.

Computer skills and laboratory experience are preferred. Ability to communicate efficiently verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervisors and customers.

Rotating 12 hour shift work required (including weekends).
