Job description:

Electrical superintendent

Responsible for the overall safety, quality and schedule of the electrical function for OCI capital projects. Carries out objectives consistent with safety, budgets, productivity improvements, scheduling, and project execution excellence. These objectives are achieved by delegating accountability with project staff and by working very closely with the contractor and quality team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Direct and manage the project construction team to implement best construction practices and provide technical expertise to reduce costs and improve process uptime and mechanical reliability.
  • Direct / support the planning and scheduling program, and its effectiveness, using established benchmarks and parameters.
  • Control project expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting project needs.
  • Coordinate and direct the use of outside resources assigned to the project.
  • Participate in process safety site activities like Root Cause Analysis, PHA Review, MOC and PSM
  • Develop written procedures for the capital projects department.
  • Always present a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
  • Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Implement the Quality System.
  • Obtain and communicate customer requirements to the appropriate personnel or functional organization.
  • Ensure that qualified, skilled, and trained personnel and other resources are available to implement the installation of the Electrical system adhering to the Quality System.
  • Ensure that products and services satisfy customer requirements including quality, safety, cost, schedule, performance, reliability, durability, accuracy, and maintainability.
  • Ensure that personnel comply with applicable standards, regulations, specifications, and documented procedures.
  • Ensure the quality of their work and operate in conformance with the requirements of the Quality System.
  • Stop work in progress or make appropriate notifications when unsafe conditions exist, or requirements are not being met.
  • Assists other Departments as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, and/or Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Supervisory experience that includes selection, direction, development, and evaluation of personnel is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in department required
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the industry required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of OSHA, API, NACE, PHA, PSM, MOC
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Regulatory Requirements – understanding the laws and governance.

 Eligibility REQUIREMENTS

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen. In addition to the following:

  • Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)

Software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel required.

Physical

  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 20 pounds. 
  • Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. 
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • The ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm, or capital project schedule
  • May work additional hours to meet deadlines as necessary.

Travel

  • Less than 10% travel required
