The Regulatory Affairs team helps ensure that what we sell is imported and sold in accordance with local regulations. We work closely with government and trade associations to ensure the changing regulatory landscape benefits consumers and our customers.

The Regulatory Specialist I will serve as a critical role in ensuring Ecolab supports customer safety goals, innovation enablement, and complies with global regulations while supporting business goals & objectives.

This position is based in Naperville, IL in a hybrid work schedule

What You Will Do :

  • Chemical hazard assessments
  • Experimental Safety Data Sheet / Label Compliance
  • Review Order blocks due to TSCA
  • Preparation of TSCA compliance notifications
  • Support product innovation teams with TSCA compliance
  • Manage and support New Chemical Notifications
  • Maintaining and enhancing business relationships both internal and external to the company

Responsibilities

  • Generate Experimental SDSs and assign and update Dangerous Goods (DG) classifications for DOT compliance
  • Manage TSCA SAP data at product level to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Review order blocks due to TSCA
  • Periodic TSCA 12(b) audit reports & complete 12(b) notifications to US EPA
  • TSCA CDR Compliance Reporting to the US EPA
  • Support internal NPI process with Pre-Manufacture Notices for TSCA to the US EPA
  • Manage Polymer Exemption Reporting & Recordkeeping to the US EPA
  • Manage Export Only Recordkeeping
  • Managing Consent Orders through the new chemical program
  • Support management of a strong TSCA compliance program and support TSCA program audits as needed
  • Support global substance registration schemes as needed
  • Complete Chemical Regulatory Scorecards for Phase Gate
  • Develop communication plan to ensure business continuity by ensuring key stakeholders are informed
  • Conduct business impact analysis for US EPA risk assessments

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Degree in chemical or pharmaceutical or engineering field or related stream
  • 5 years experience in Industry, Government Agency, or Academia
  • Experience in conducting chemical hazard assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities in a team environment
  • Ability to represent the company and influence decisions in regulatory matters relating to product safety and environmental issues
  • Ability to collaborate and develop multi-disciplinary relationships both within and outside the company
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Desire to apply scientific skills in a corporate environment

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Masters or PhD preferred
  • Familiarity with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)
  • Prior regulatory expertise with programs and agencies such as the . EPA, OSHA and counterpart regulatory agencies outside the US
  • Ability to response quickly in emergency situations involving product human health issues, bearing in mind potential regulatory requirements and public relations issues
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position.
