Description:

A Manufacturing Engineer (ME) specializes in designing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems. They collaborate with other engineering disciplines (such as mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering) to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of goods. Here are some key responsibilities of a manufacturing engineer. This is a “working engineer” position and requires substantial time on the plant floor.1. Process Design and Improvement: - Analyzing existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. - Proposing and implementing improvements, which may involve new techniques, automation, and lean manufacturing principles.2. Production Planning and Scheduling: - Determining the most efficient sequence of operations. - Estimating production time and costs. - Creating production schedules in collaboration with other departments.3. Equipment Selection and Maintenance: - Selecting appropriate equipment and machinery for production. - Evaluating equipment capabilities and making recommendations for upgrades. - Overseeing equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.4. Quality Assurance and Control: - Implementing quality control systems to ensure products meet defined standards and specifications.In addition, manufacturing engineers provide input on product design for manufacturability, collaborating with product designers to optimize production efficiency while maintaining product quality

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing - 3 - 5 years experience with Preventative Maintenance, Continuous Improvement and Capital Projects (Equipment)- Experience being hands on turning a wrench. - 1- 3 years experience working with jigs and fixtures in Solidworks Nice to Have- Experience in Facility maintenance - PLC programming
