Lucas Oil Products is Hiring a Regulatory Compliance Manager Near Myrtle Point, OR

This position may work from our Indianapolis or Corydon, Indiana office locations or hybrid/remote, depending on applicant location
Lucas Oil Products is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Regulatory Compliance Manager, responsible for creating and executing global regulatory compliance strategies in collaboration with organizational stakeholders. This position will be accountable for creating and managing a team of both internal and external resources to enable worldwide growth of the business. As a member of Lucas Oil's product development organization and in collaboration with internal stakeholders, this position will ensure product compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations including required chemical hazard communications, product packaging and labeling, trade compliance and tariff classification, and other relevant standards. This position also has regulatory oversight of the product lifecycle across the globe which includes review and approval of new international markets for new and existing products.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Owns and directs the organizations Regulatory Compliance and Product Stewardship strategy and execution, leading a team of subject-matter-experts on all applicable regulatory compliance standards.
  • Stewards completion and submission of global regulatory reporting requirements, identifying key risks to the business and communicates to senior management well defined risk mitigation strategies.
  • Directs and communicates complex regulatory issues at senior levels across the company and with external agencies and third parties in alignment with business needs.
  • Develops regulatory strategy and compliance schemes in dynamic, ever-changing markets.
  • Manages and develops both internal and external compliance and regulatory resources to deliver compliant products on time and on budget with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Provides global regulatory oversight and compliance feedback for new chemical products and reformulation of existing products.
  • Directs a team of subject matter experts that reviews proposed product labelling, documentation, and product requirements to ensure international regulations are met in current and new markets.
  • Builds and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders and other functions key to the success of product development.
  • Conducts category and product research to provide support to the R&D and marketing departments' efforts.
  • Develops internal regulatory policies and best practices to retain knowledge, improve accuracy, and streamline processes.
  • Provides technical expertise and value-added product stewardship services to internal and external customers and their commercial partners, either proactively or in response to requests for support.
  • Develops and maintains product environmental and sustainability data in support of emerging global regulatory requirements for Extended Producer Responsibility, including product carbon emissions analysis, packaging recyclability and circularity, etc.
  • Advises on trade agreements and related compliance issues, including but not limited to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), country of origin, and material traceability requirements.
  • Represents company in conferences, societies, and other industry activities as assigned or requested. Maintain adequate level of expertise and professional development through attending training, self-study, seminars, etc. Stay informed of advanced developments inside and outside of the company.
  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, environmental science, related disciplines, or relevant work experience.
  • 8 years relevant experience with global regulatory compliance or product stewardship.
  • 2 years of management / supervisory experience.
  • Proven portfolio management and project/process management experience.
  • Experience managing a team of internal and external resources preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and support internal processes for the evaluation of SDS, labels, and packaging requirements.
  • Expertise in global chemical control programs such as GHS, REACH, TSCA, DSL, SARA, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively across various functions.
  • Able to exercise judgement and effective, independent decision-making.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Some travel may be required, domestically and/or internationally (
  • Experience in the automotive chemicals industry highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be physically able to work sitting or standing in an office setting or in a manufacturing environment as necessary to complete job duties.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
