Carolina Legal Associates is Hiring a Litigation Attorney Near Myrtle, SC

We are looking for a litigation associate attorney for a boutique law firm in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. This general practice firm is hiring an attorney experienced in litigation who wants to join a tight-knit team. If you have been working in criminal law and want to broaden your practice areas, this might be the spot for you! All candidates with litigation and courtroom experience will be considered. The focus for this associate includes personal injury cases, civil litigation from both sides, business litigation, and more. Salary will depend on experience.

Example Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation and other legal proceedings
  • Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memorandum
  • Guide clients through the case process
  • Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
  • Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
  • Travel in SC for court appearances may be required

Minimum and Additional Qualifications:

  • A JD from an accredited law school and a member of the SC Bar in good standing
  • 3 years of experience practicing as an attorney with knowledge of and experience in litigation and civil procedure
  • Strong legal writing skills including experience in drafting briefs and other legal documents
  • Ability to express arguments and conclusions clearly and logically
  • Strong research, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize facts, evidence and legal theory
  • Ability to understand and craft legal pleadings, discovery, and proposed orders
  • Detail-oriented, hardworking, and results-driven team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience gathering evidence to be used in trial & interviewing key witnesses
  • May require travel throughout the state, working more than 40 hours per week when needed, and lifting boxes of documents.
