Stamping Machine Operator IN MUSKEGON, MI

Summary: To load, operate, and adjust spring machines and auxiliary equipment to maintain required quality and quantity of production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read and interpret blueprints, hand sketches, and follow verbal or written instructions.
- Execute duties autonomously with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Work under the guidance and training of the Production Supervisor and Team Leader.
- Notify supervisor of production delays and causes of delay.
- Notify the Production Supervisor or Team Leader of any recurring equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, including sweeping floors, dusting cabinets, and organizing storage shelves and worktables.
- Monitor the quality of products in process and finished products according to work instructions.
- Perform minor/basic equipment adjustments once trained.
- Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 Standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on production quality and process standards.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Employ flexibility to meet team, department, and company goals.
- Works according to Scherdel’s quality and environmental system requirements, and customer quality requirement.
- Highschool Diploma or GED: Required
- Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to follow directions and be a self-starter. Ability to use required measurement tools including calipers, gages, micrometers and comparators. Ability to read and follow blueprints. Commit to team success through reliable attendance.
- Ability to bend twist and stand for periods up to 8-12 hours
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs if required
