Stamping Machine Operator IN MUSKEGON, MI
SCHERDEL Sales & Technology, Inc., located in Muskegon, MI since 1999, with a Metro Detroit office in Brighton, MI, is a subsidiary of SCHERDEL GmbH, located in Marktredwitz in the state of Bavaria, Germany. We are currently managed by the fourth generation of the founding family with sales and manufacturing activities at 42 sites in various European countries, North and South America and in Asia. Summary: To load, operate, and adjust spring machines and auxiliary equipment to maintain required quality and quantity of production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, hand sketches, and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Execute duties autonomously with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Work under the guidance and training of the Production Supervisor and Team Leader.
  • Notify supervisor of production delays and causes of delay.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor or Team Leader of any recurring equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, including sweeping floors, dusting cabinets, and organizing storage shelves and worktables.
  • Monitor the quality of products in process and finished products according to work instructions.
  • Perform minor/basic equipment adjustments once trained.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on production quality and process standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Employ flexibility to meet team, department, and company goals.
  • Works according to Scherdel’s quality and environmental system requirements, and customer quality requirement.
Position Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma or GED: Required
Skills
  • Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to follow directions and be a self-starter. Ability to use required measurement tools including calipers, gages, micrometers and comparators. Ability to read and follow blueprints. Commit to team success through reliable attendance.
  • Ability to bend twist and stand for periods up to 8-12 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs if required
  • Ability to work repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to perform duties in a fast paced environment
