Our OpportunityNorth American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities and personnel of the Manufacturing Engineering department, which includes support for new launch development and day-to-day technical issues for the assembly process in the plant with a focus on scrap and downtime reduction.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesYour Priorities
  • Plans and directs all manufacturing engineering activities and personnel within the plant
  • Ensures proper and effective support of new product launches by the manufacturing engineering department staff
  • Oversees the on-time input of the BOM/routings, and ensures that production rates and machine cycle times are available for input for all new products per the established project plan
  • Helps to develop plant layouts and materials/product flow plans via internal and/or external sources
  • Assists in the preparation of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (PFMEA), Process Design Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities
  • Leads and/or participates in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility, and ensures participation of direct reports these activities, as needed
RequirementsYour Background
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline
(MBA or MS in Engineering is preferred)
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment to include
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering; and
  • 4 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management position
(Experience in an engineering function with an automotive lighting manufacturer is preferred)
