Description

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees. 

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Manage Health and Safety Programs and site compliance following facility Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Demonstrates an excellent knowledge or be a resource to guide Plant Leadership about OSHA, EPA, and other regulations. Acts as the main contact for any Governmental Regulatory inspections for EHS compliance. 
  • Develops annual goals for safety performance partnering with operations management. Accurately logs & reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and demonstrates thriving effort to achieve targets. Some KPI examples are Hazards/Near Miss reporting and action tracking, Safety events; first aid, recordable and property damages, TRIR rate, leading vs. lagging indicators. 
  • Creates processes to identify unsafe equipment operation and provide recommendations of safe operations. Provides risk analysis and troubleshoot/diagnose potential EHS problems/hazards. This includes root case analysis, effective physical or behavioral control measures, and development of corrective action plans to arrive at best outcome.
  • Completes periodic internal audits of safety programs and/or its components. Closely works with clients and external auditors as a resource to complete audits and inspections
  • Manages the cases of injured workers following internal case management protocols. Also, responsible for Workers Compensation program management: prevention to injury management and return to work.
  • Maintains professional certifications and training requirements needed for the position. Some examples are- OSHA 30, OSHA 501, Certified Safety Manager (CSM), Associate of Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP). 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3 years of Safety experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is required
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or OSHA 501 
  • Forklift Trainer Certification 
  • Database management, including enterprise software.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications
  • Proficient in Spanish

  • Organization: Organize and prioritize your own actions efficiently. Be flexible and react favorably to multiple priorities, changing schedules and daily assignments while paying attention to detail.
