WHO we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Linguist to join our team.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Participate invariety of formal and informal activities as dictated by the needs of thebusiness.
- Support MachineLearning experts in language specific areas for our target language (USEnglish). These include creating grammars, providing language data, conceptannotation, ASR, semantic parsers, creating annotation guidelines, support UXteam in creation of the voice of our AI, review of user data and proposeimprovements.
- Perform taskssuch as data annotation, phonetic transcription, speech synthesis, machinetranslation, natural utterance generation, grammar checking, ASRtranscription, automation, text mining and other "Big Data" related applications.
- Research, plan,and document product features for a variety of audiences, such assoftware developers, IT admins, sales engineers and end users.
- Identify andresolve issues relating to documentation, project schedules, structure, design,and deliverables.
- Visualize complexprocesses and solve complex problems.
- Apply great dealof concentration over a long period of time in order to complete a complicatedtask properly the very first time.
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degreeor equivalent.
- MUST be native US English speakers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scripting orprograming experience desired.
- Background incomputational linguistics.
- Experience inVoice UX design and dialog management a plus.
- Ability tounderstand and create use-cases that developers can use to implement newproduct features.
- Expertise withdesktop publishing software (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Suite, graphics packages).
- Experience withvideo script creation for explaining product features.
- Experience withcontent management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Perforce, Git).
- Experience withdeveloper tools (e.g., Android Studio, Jira).
- SoftwareQA/testing experience a plus.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or independent environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Limited supervision and the exercise of discretion.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the contract employee is occasionally required to stand, clean, crawl, kneel, sit, sort, hold, squat, stoop, stand, twist the body, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders and scaffolding, talk or hear, and lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90% ) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity.
Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. May require working additional time beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
