Maintenance
The Mt Pleasant Discovery Museum is currently hiring for a maintenance position. In a maintenance role you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the museum exhibits. You will also be responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on building systems and exhibits
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing exhibits, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures
- Help install appliances, equipment, and exhibits
- Maintain and repair wooden furniture and wooden exhibits
Requirements
- Available 20-30 hours weekly
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Previous maintenance experience
Benefits
- $15 hourly to start with incremental raises

The Mt Pleasant Discovery Museum is a children’s museum located in Mt Pleasant, Michigan. We have hands-on exhibits that encourage children to learn through play. We have an action-packed schedule with exciting events, field trips for local school children, and birthday parties hosted in our community rooms. The Mt Pleasant Discovery Museum is a local oasis for children to come explore, learn, create, and grow!
