Job Title: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU)Job Summary: The PACU Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals coming out of anesthesia following surgical procedures. They monitor patients closely, assess their condition, and manage post-operative complications to ensure a smooth recovery process before transferring them to a hospital room or discharging them.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Monitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness post-surgery.2. Administer medications as needed and monitor for side effects.3. Assess patients' pain levels and provide pain management interventions.4. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the patient's safety and well-being.5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding their condition and care plan.6. Prepare patients for discharge by providing education on post-operative care instructions.7. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses.8. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.Qualifications and Skills:1. Valid RN license and BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or critical care setting.3. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.5.
