ACCOUNTANT – MORRIS PLAINS, NJ (HYBRID)

A dynamic and rapidly growing CPA firm is looking for a dedicated Accountant to join their team in Morris Plains, NJ! The ideal candidate possesses at least 5 years of public accounting experience and shares an unwavering commitment to prioritizing client service. As an essential member of the team, the Accountant is responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation services, all supported by extensive hands-on training. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise and passion for client service while finding personal and professional growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain client relationships; have direct contact with clients via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations
  • Provide assistance with monthly close processes.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate adjustments for cash and accrual differences.
  • Preparations of business and individual tax returns.
  • Perform monthly bookkeeping services.
  • Conduct trend analysis for clients.
  • Assist the accounting partner as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Ideally 5 years of experience in public accounting.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the CCH suite and Quickbooks.
  • Ability to work in a client facing role and travel locally to client offices.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation services.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
