Continental is Hiring a Maintenance Apprentice Near Morganton, NC

Job Description

Entry/training position to learn techniques, procedures, and protocol to ensure manufacturing equipment is producing product in accordance to approved standards and to maintain all production and support equipment to assure high efficiency and zero defects

  • Meet, or exceed, production standards and reduce line NOK rates. 
  • Properly maintain production equipment, tooling and associated machinery to designed standards as well as planned preventive maintenance.
  • Drive the execution of changeovers according to production schedule
  • Collaborate in improvement teams to reach better productivity and efficiency out of the equipment and personnel
  • Monitor measurement systems, SPC or other performance indicators and proactively respond to negative trends
  • Evaluate assembly material for acceptability and contain, reject and properly identify nonconforming material.
  • Participate and/or trigger in Jidoka events based on quality trends.
  • Review product FMEA’s and Control Plans. 
  • Give Direction to Assemblers and line leader in their daily functions and help coordinate production runs and manufacturing processes.

Work with Engineering to continuously improve Quality, Cycle Times, Processes

  • Currently enrolled in Continental Morganton’s apprenticeship youth program. (North Carolina State approved.)
  • Currently pursuing AAS Degree in a technical discipline.
