Our retail client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team.

Pay Rate: $50.00 - $55.00/hr on W2
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer:

• Translate complex cross-functional business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and data solutions
• Partner with Product Team to understand business needs and functional specifications
• Ensure specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs
• Evaluate project deliverables to ensure they meet specifications and architectural standards
• Ensure the architecture blueprint, standards, target state architecture, and strategies are aligned with the requirements
• Coordinate, execute, and participate in component integration scenarios, systems integration testing, and user acceptance testing
• Develop detailed architecture plans for large scale enterprise architecture projects and drives the plans to fruition
• Execute the development, maintenance, and enhancements of data ingestion solutions of varying complexity levels
• Demonstrate strong acumen in Data Ingestion toolsets and nurture and grow junior members in this capability
• Triage maintenance issues
• Work with Infrastructure Engineering teams to maintain the data platform

Requirements of the Senior Data Engineer:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience in Data or BI Engineering, Data Warehousing/ETL, or Software Engineering
• At least 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles
• Experience with Hive/Hbase, Google Big Query
• Ability to help migrate between Talend, Hadoop, and Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to build out data pipelines and API endpoints for downstream applications
• Strong skills with RDBMS (Oracle/SQL)
• Exposure to either Hadoop/DB2/Teradata
