Union Mutual is looking for a professional and experienced Property Claims Manager to join our dynamic team of Claims professionals based in our Montpelier, Vermont office. The Company will consider remote or hybrid work arrangements, but quarterly (or more frequent as needed for training) travel to the Company’s office in Montpelier, Vermont may be required. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Claims and is responsible for direct oversight of the Property unit comprised of a hybrid staff with experience ranging from entry to expert-level Adjusters, General Adjusters and Examiners. In addition to managing staff, the Property Claims Manager will monitor process and systems for quality and make the necessary adjustments or recommendations as warranted. The Property Claims Manager will also work closely with other Claims Managers to ensure consistency across the Department.

Job Requirements:
Must have ten or more years of experience in the insurance industry and a current adjuster’s license in the state of Vermont with the ability to secure licenses in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will have an expert level understanding of construction materials and methods, familiarity with ISO format Homeowners and Businessowners policies, estimating experience using Xactimate or an equivalent. Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, and a high level of critical thinking and judgement. AIC, CPCU, PCLA/SCLA or other professional insurance designations preferred.
