Job Overview: As a Financial Accountant for the Agronomy Division, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects for this division. Your role will involve ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing financial data, providing insights to support strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including finance, operations, and management, to drive efficiency, profitability, and growth within the Agronomy Division.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze division and location financial statements for the Agronomy Division.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and investigate variances, trends, and anomalies in financial data.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for the Agronomy Division.
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with divisional leaders to develop actionable plans to achieve financial goals.
  1. Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making within the Agronomy Division, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and pricing analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to optimize divisional performance and drive profitability.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies within the Agronomy Division.
  • Identify and assess financial risks within the division and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to financial accounting and reporting.
  1. Financial Systems and Processes:
  • Streamline financial reporting processes and enhance the efficiency of financial systems within the Agronomy Division.
  • Implement improvements to internal controls and procedures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and transparency of financial data.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to align financial goals with operational strategies and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency regarding financial performance and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in the agriculture sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:

  • Requires static strength to lift, push, pull, or, on occasion, carry objects with a minimum weight of 50 pounds. Also flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Some tasks involve repetitive motion.
  • Agricultural Environment – Possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agriculture products.
