Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of
licensed Occupational Therapists, tailored to meet the diverse needs of children in clinic
and school settings.
Support the implementation of therapeutic interventions and activities designed to
address fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, executive functioning, and social participation.
Engage with children in a caring and effective manner, facilitating therapeutic activities
that promote skill development and participation.
Contribute to the assessment process, helping to identify children’s needs and track
their progress over time.
Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive
approach to therapy and support for each child.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of therapy sessions and progress, ensuring
compliance with all regulatory and documentation standards.
Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay
abreast of best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in New York
state.
Associate degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an
accredited institution.
Strong interest and experience in pediatric occupational therapy, with a willingness to
work in both school and clinical settings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively
with children, families, and team members.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, following the
guidance of Occupational Therapists to implement therapy plans.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate
records.
Familiarity with modern therapy techniques and technologies (experience with
CentralReach is a plus).
