Job Summary

Work with existing maintenance team to maintain the current equipment capacity and help improve or install new equipment to increase capacity, improve quality and/or improve safety and reliability of equipment.

Essential Functions

• Help manage the day to day maintenance activities including supervising technicians and contractors and overseeing the workflow database.
• Source critical spares for major operating units. Suggest new designs for eliminating obsolescence
• Manage Major Maintenance and Capital Projects
  • Create specifications for new equipment
  • Present project plans to upper management for funding
  • Work with procurement to elect successful bidders
  • Reward contracts for successful bidders
  • Manage projects from conception to installation, commissioning and training.
• Participate in completion of maintenance items that are identified by the plant safety committee
• Work with technicians and operators to optimize the process control and automation of the various production units
• Work closely with electric utility companies on electrical matters.
• Monitor plant electrical maintenance work to ensure that it conforms to safety and code requirements.
• Consult with management of problems and process improvement objectives.
