Company Overview:
Pediatric Group Associates specializes in the comprehensive medical care of children from birth to college. Pediatric Group Associates is a division of CareCloud Practice Management a subsidiary of CareCloud Inc.
Job Summary:
The Medical Office Assistant will assist in the delivery of pediatric primary health care and patient care management. This individual will provide clinical assistance to the clinical and office staff working in the practice following established standards, practices, and protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understanding of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Skill in administering a variety of treatments as directed.
  • Skill in using various types of equipment such as thermometer, pulse ox, blood pressure and office
equipment.
  • Skill in maintaining electronic medical records
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, coworkers and the public. Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards and to react calmly and effectively in emergency
situations.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to interpret and adapt to patient care guidelines and procedures.
Front Office Duties:
  • Requires computer skills with use of many platforms.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Maintains patient files, records and other health and office information.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Cross train as Patient Representative.
  • Performs related work as required.
Back Office Duties:
  • Performs general nursing care to patients including obtaining history, and vital signs in accordance
with accepted nursing standards and accurately record and enter into the EHR > • Assists with the preparation of equipment including re-stocking of supplies and gathering necessary
equipment for procedures.
  • Uses standard precautions as needed in the clinical setting. Disposes of biohazardous waste as
appropriate.
  • Screens telephone calls and or referral to nurse.
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms and supplies per office policy.
  • Additional duties as assigned or needed for office flow.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and Experience:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving pediatric patient care.
  • Understanding of common safety hazards and precautions to create a safe work environment.
  • Skills in maintaining records and recording test results in an electronic medical record.
Equipment Used:
  • Pediatric examination, diagnostic and treatment equipment, office equipment such as printer, copier, fax, etc.
Interaction:
Individual may interact with patients, medical staff and the general public. May expect exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substance, and medicinal preparations. May require individuals to work in outside elements to provide patient care due to business needs.
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion as well as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods. May require lifting or carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions or irregular hours (daytime, evenings, weekends)
