SUMMARY:
Responsible for the functionality and integrity of Grand River Casino & Resort’s (GRC) technology resources in accordance with the MIS policies and procedures and applicable tribal, state & federal laws and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The MIS Technician is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day functionality and integrity of the technology resources and the data processing and telecommunications infrastructure in accordance with the MIS policies and procedures and software vendor license agreements, in order to provide GRC staff with the automation tools and information to allow them to complete their responsibilities in the most effective and cost efficient manner. The information systems infrastructure includes the physical operating platforms (servers, workstations, network and telecommunications components), operating system and application software, the data associated to the applications and the associated procedures.
He/she is responsible for providing hardware and software support to the users, including training and problem solving assistance, and for making recommendations for improving the utilization, effectiveness, efficiency and the control structure of GRC’s technology resources.
Other responsibilities include the implementation of the various elements of the control structure including: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly checklists, forms and audits; confidentiality of information; access to software and data; backups; antivirus; computer environment, regulatory compliance, etc.
PREREQUISITES
General:
Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a “Key” Standing Rock Tribal gaming license.
Education:
High school graduate or GED required. Suitable MIS related degree (associate degree or higher), with one or more industry standard certification such as MSCE, CNE, A Network CCP or CCNA. Experience will be considered in place of the education requirements. Must be able to communicate (both written and oral) in the primary language used in the workplace.
Experience:
Two or more years experience of network system support/IT administration preferred, including Microsoft suite of operating systems and office automation tools.
Physical:
Visual acuity; hand and finger dexterity; repetitive motions; sitting for long periods working on a keyboard; reaching; bending and lifting 40 pounds.
