Job Summary

The Quality Inspector will work with the Safe Fleet Quality team under the direction of the Quality Coordinator. They must have good working knowledge of electronics and/or mechanics, and preferably be familiar withfinished product testing. The Quality Inspector must also be capable of multi-tasking, be detail orientated and be able to participate in a team environment while performing cross-functional tasks.


Contract Duration: Four Months


You will

  • Perform testing of cameras, video recorders and cables per standard QC Inspection procedures.
  • Verify firmware version of electronic devices per Engineering procedures.
  • Conduct inspection of metal parts in accordance with QC procedures, Bill of Materials and Engineering drawings.
  • Ensures product is identified with the ‘inspection status’ throughout the inspection process.
  • Record product non-conformances in the company’s PLM system (document control system).
  • Handle discrepant material per standard non-conformance procedure.
  • Complete all applicable quality records, maintain/update database and filing systems.
  • Inspect repaired product and determine disposition.
  • Audit the ‘quarantine’ warehouse regularly to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct in-process inspections, as required.
  • Maintain a 5S clean and sustainable work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

You should have/be

  • Experience testing electronic devices
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical parts inspection (must be able to read Engineering drawings and Bill of Materials)
  • Familiar with Engineering document control systems
  • Experience working with multimeters, power supplies and calipers
  • Experience working on video surveillance equipment is an asset
  • Creating/maintaining Inspection procedures and Quality documentation is an asset
  • Post-Secondary education in Electronics, Quality Assurance or relevant experience
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word and Excel)
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized
