Bahama Consulting is Hiring a Surgical Technician Near Minneapolis, MN
TITLE: Surgical Technician
LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN
STATUS: Full-Time – Contract
SCHEDULE: Variable shifts, 6:45, 9:00 am, 11:00am and 3:00 pm, assigned on rotational basis
Call 4-5 times per 4 week schedule, includes in house call overnight. Work 1 weekend per 4-week schedule.
PAY: $40.00 - $53.00 Per Hour DOQ
This is the pay range that BAHAMA Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Overtime paid at 1.5X regular rate of pay)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist surgeons and nurses during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field by adhering to aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines.
- Assist with patient positioning and draping as directed by the surgical team.
- Handle specimens and surgical supplies with care, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Level 1 trauma experience.
- Strong Orthopedic and Neuro background helpful due to the call requirement.
- Certification required.
