Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Infection Preventionist.
In this role, the successful candidate Under the guidelines of the Director of Infection Prevention and the Hospital Epidemiologist plans and implements daily operation of the Infection Prevention Program. Responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of Hospital acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of Health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet JCAHO, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements. Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Public Health or Allied Field. BS in Nursing with current licensure by New York State as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of two years experience in Nursing is required. Knowledge and ability to collect, interpret analyze and report on surveillance and infection data. Active Certification endorsed by the Certification Board of Infection Control (CBIC) or actively seeking certification. Knowledge of computer software/systems (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet and database programs). Demonstrates ability to exercise judgment to plan, execute and evaluate a program of actions to achieve infection prevention and control goals..
Required Licenses: Certification Board of Infection Control
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health or Allied Field. Membership in the Association for Professional in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology Inc. Solid body of knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, principles of adult education.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $112,360.00 - $125,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
