Divine Savior Holy Angels High School is Hiring an Associate Director of Development (Full-time, Year-round) Near Milwaukee, WI

Description

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, and integrated effort to build a base of individual donors and increase the level of support received though the annual fund. The Associate Director will lead year-round cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts that support all annual fund programs, including but not limited to managing a leadership donor portfolio with a minimum of 75 donors, all volunteer outreach, the Mosaic class giving program, Dasher Day of Giving, and specific Annual Fund events and solicitations. The Associate Director will also assist with major gift fundraising efforts surrounding any DSHA capital campaigns. The Associate Director reports to the Senior Director of Development.

Requirements

  • Develop a working knowledge of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in general, and funding priorities specifically, to articulate a compelling case for support to all constituents.
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive mass-market fundraising program for all constituents to support the school’s mission and build a pipeline of support to improve participation, dollars raised, and donors engaged among each constituency group. 
  • Prepare, execute, and lead a detailed annual fundraising plan and calendar each fiscal year utilizing a multi-channel marketing approach (personal meetings, direct mail, email, phone, social, and digital) to increase total donors and dollars annually.
  • Provide support to capital campaign initiatives, including qualifying prospects and soliciting donors.
  • Identify major gift prospects and introduce prospects to major and planned giving concepts.
  • Measure the effectiveness of annual giving solicitations to determine return on investment of specific appeals.
  • Develop reports as needed to inform annual fund strategy and to measure fundraising progress.
  • Research, qualify, cultivate, and solicit alumnae, parents, and friends capable of making a leadership annual gift of $1,000 or more.
  • Average a minimum of 5 face-to-face (in-person or virtual) meetings per month.
  • Along with the Alumnae Director, responsible for increasing alumnae giving on an annual basis while growing the donor and dollar pools for all constituencies through the execution of multi-channel solicitation strategies.
  • Along with the Alumnae Director, lead Mosaic planning and Dasher Day of Giving planning and implementation including securing challenge donors, ambassadors, volunteers, etc.
  • Develop and manage parent participation program to support the annual fund.
  • Identify and develop a comprehensive plan for increased matching and recurring gifts.
  • Coordinate events related to the annual fund, including, but not limited to, stewardship and cultivation events and new or increased donor celebrations. 
  • Working with the Senior Director of Development, staff the Development Committee of the DSHA Board of Directors, including meeting support and meeting minutes.
  • Participate in educational and professional development opportunities to further the growth of philanthropy generally and the annual fund specifically. 
  • Attend specific evening and weekend activities, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assignments not specific to the annual fund.

Education and/or Experience

Position requires a bachelor’s degree and approximately 3-4 years of experience in a related position, preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment. Experience with fundraising software is required. Raiser’s Edge experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to demonstrate dedication to the mission and vision of DSHA is required. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Experience with Annual Fund activities and/or special events and the ability to multi-task are extremely important. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to take initiative on projects, work independently or with a team. Experience with Raiser’s Edge (or other fundraising software) and proficiency with MS Office software, the internet and email are required. The ability to maintain confidential information is required. Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work takes place primarily in an office/school environment. There is occasional travel.
