Job Description – Laboratory Technician
Location: Millville, NJ
Shift: 6:00pm-6:00am 2,2,3 schedule 

Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor
Job Summary:
Take direction from Laboratory Supervisor or Director of Quality and Production Supervisors to maintain overall product quality. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for receiving, testing, analyzing, recording, and reporting results of their tests. ​​​​​​

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Execute processes related to hold, release and/or rejection of finished goods 
  • Perform chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products 
  • Verifies compliance and alerts management of any deviations 
  • Perform weight checks, temperature checks, ingredient usage and distribution, finished product appearance, code date verification and PH testing 
  • Responsible for daily finished product evaluation 
  • Perform and coordinate sensory evaluation of all products
  • Performs environmental testing of all products and applicable storage locations 
  • Keep neat and accurate records and paperwork per company and government policies 
  • Participate and support all audits (internal, external and contract related) 
  • Provide break and lunch relief to co-workers in the area
  • Attend and participate in daily shift meetings
  • Uphold visual management of the work area
  • Follows and supports continuous improvement methodologies 
  • Strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental policies 
  • Strict adherence to all GMP and food safety policies
  • Perform necessary preventive maintenance on equipment as needed 
  • Report all equipment malfunctions and abnormalities for follow-up and repairs 
  • Create and follow-up on work orders for area as needed
  • Completes all required training on time
  • Other duties as assigned ​​​​​​

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to weights, measures and record keeping 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions 
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English 
  • Required to regularly lift up to 50lbs 
  • Flexibility to work overtime and additional shifts based on business needs
