Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is a seeking an experienced (8 years of related professional experience), highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team in Millersville, Maryland. Role will be primarily fieldwork based, serving as team lead on project sites.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Wetlands delineation
* Forest stand delineation and natural resource inventory studies
* Wetlands mitigation monitoring
* Stream restoration monitoring
* Assessments associated with ecological restoration projects
* Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Studies
* Staff mentoring
* Assistance with business development
* Participation in industry organizations
* Proposal preparation
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline
* Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) designation
* FCA Qualified Professional
* Experience coordinating with Maryland-based federal and state resource agencies regarding the Clean Water Act and Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways permitting
* Ability to work independently and with a team
* Superior oral and written communication skills
* Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
* Knowledge of local land development practices
* Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
* Willingness to regularly travel regionally
Preferred:
* Experience with Maryland-based federal and state resource agencies regarding Tidal Wetlands and Waterways permitting
* MBSS certification for spring and/or summer sampling protocols
* Master's Degree in environmental sciences or a related discipline
* GIS and/or CAD experience
